Job Title: Store Manager - Kitchener Location

BackRoads Brews + Shoes is a specialty running retail store and taproom focused on providing an excellent customer experience and establishing and maintaining a strong store community. The BackRoads Taproom adds a unique in-store experience for our customers by providing a place to socialize and be part of a broader community. BackRoads carries a wide selection of footwear and gear for both running and walking and offers various social runs and events. BackRoads is searching for a motivated individual who is keen to be part of the new BackRoads Kitchener location.

Job Type: Full-time - 40 hours per week including flexibility for weekend hours. Position will start when the Kitchener location opens, which is estimated to be between mid November and January.

Wage: Salary commensurate with experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet with the store owner on a weekly basis regarding any work related items. Be available to collaborate with the store owner, marketing and events team on each scheduled work day.
• Receive new inventory as it arrives using Shopify.
• Stock, manage and maintain a well organized inventory stock room.
• Merchandise new product as it arrives.
• Plan and manage inventory stock checks.
• Process online sales using Shopify.
• Provide customer support through phone and email.
• Resolve customer issues.
• Organize Retail-Associate work schedule.
• Supervise Retail Associates and Taproom Servers day-to-day tasks ensuring all tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
• Educate Retail Associates on the technology and features of new products.
• Onboard and train new Retail Associates and Taproom Servers.
• Implementing and enforcing current and new store procedures and policies.
• Manage special orders.
• Execute in-store marketing and sale campaigns.
• Ensure store cleanliness.
• Serve Customers as Barista and Bartender.
• Conduct opening and closing procedures when necessary.
• Be knowledgable on all store product.
• Conduct shoe fittings.
• Educate customers as they shop for clothing, gear, etc.
• Contribute to store social media accounts when necessary.
• Process in-store purchases for retail and taproom items.
• Ensure all customers have a great in-store experience.
• Execute Run Club social runs.
• Represent the BackRoads brand in-store and at events.

Skills:

• Computer savvy.
• Well organized.
• Independent worker.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Personable and comfortable talking to several customers.
• Interest in running as an activity or sport.
• Knowledge of running shoes and current shoe technology.
• Familiarity with Shopify an asset.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior retail management experience an asset but not required.
• Serving as a Barista and Bartender.
• Retail and Sales.

Required Qualifications:

• Post Secondary Education
• Smart Serve
• Food Handlers Certificate

The BackRoads Taproom adds a unique in-store experience for our customers by providing a place to socialize and be part of a broader community. BackRoads carries a wide selection of footwear and gear for both running and walking and offers various social runs and events. BackRoads is searching for a motivated individual who is keen to be part and of the new BackRoads Kitchener location.

Job Type: Part-time with potential for promotions and increased hours. Starting at 20-25 hours per week. Will need to be available for weekday and weekend hours including evenings. Position will start when the Kitchener location opens, which is tentatively between mid November and January.

Wage: Competitive hourly wage based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Meet with the store manager and store owner on a weekly bases regarding any work related items. Be available to collaborate with the store manager each scheduled work day.
• Represent the BackRoads brand in-store.
• Ensure all customers have a great in-store experience.

• Be knowledgable on all store products.
• Conduct shoe fittings and provide technical information.
• Educate customers as they shop for clothing, gear, etc.

• Process in-store purchases for retail and taproom items.
• Help execute and be present at store events when necessary.
• Be available to help with store social runs as necessary.
