BackRoads 2025 Fall Rookie Running Program
Whether you’re new to running or returning after a long break, our learn to run program is designed just for you!
Our mission is to guide you through this process at your own pace by gradually building your endurance, strength, and confidence over the duration of the program. With a combination of walking/running intervals, guided workouts, and expert advice, you’ll progress steadily toward completing a 5km run with confidence.
This 10-week program immerses you in a supportive community of runners and athletes from all levels of running, many of whom have started their running and fitness journeys right here at BackRoads. Sign up today!
What’s Included:
- 10-week training program with weekly emails
- Start date: Monday, August 18th

Training sessions:
- Monday and Wednesday run/walks at 5:45 PM from BackRoads
- Saturday OR Sunday "homework runs" (on your own!)
- 5-week lead-up to the Jordan's Run the Runway 5K on Friday, September 19th (optional, paid event)
- Rookie 5K celebration run on Saturday, October 25th
- Group instructors offering excellent support and guidance
- Positive interactions with fellow members, runners, and friends
- Expert advice on running, gear, and running shoes
